Toxic, starring Yash, Kiara Advani, Nayanthara, Rukmini Vasanth, Tara Sutaria, and Huma Qureshi, has unfortunately found itself in the record books as one of the biggest disasters in Indian cinema. With the budget rising to 500 crore, the magnum opus was already in the danger zone, and things worsened due to poor word of mouth. How much did Toxic earn at the Indian box office in 16 days?

The period gangster action thriller, despite all negative reactions, amassed 235.05 crore in its 9-day extended opening week. In the second week, it suffered a disastrous fall as only 8.94 crore were recorded, including the third Thursday, day 16’s 39 lakh. If we calculated the drop, the film saw a 96.2% decline from the opening week. Overall, it has earned 243.99 crore net at the Indian box office, which equals 287.94 crore. It is heading for a lifetime collection of below 250 crore net.

Budget and recovery

Toxic was made at an estimated budget of 500 crore, and has earned only 243.99 crore net so far. So, in 16 days, it has recovered 48.8% of the total budget. With the film eyeing a finish below 250 crore net, it’ll end with a recovery below 50%, thus emerging as a flop at the Indian box office, as per Koimoi’s parameters.

As of now, Toxic is in a deficit of 256.01 crore or 51.2%, which is very shocking and makes the film one of the biggest disasters ever in Indian cinema.
