A24’s You Can See Everything is a three-hour-long documentary. It is not a commercial movie with music, nor does it follow the general runtime of American films. Still, the film has found a massive audience in its home country. In its second weekend, the film has stayed in the top three despite many new releases that could have potentially toppled it. But You Can See Everything stood strong and even earned more than it did during its opening weekend.
The documentary saw a surge in the number of shows allotted to it owing to demand. It has also outshone the video game adaptation Street Fighter, the survival thriller Whalefall, and the period romance Sense & Sensibility at the box office in North America. Now, in its second weekend, it is giving Clayface a run for its money at the box office.
Becomes 3rd Biggest Non-Music Documentary Ever Domestically
On its second Sunday, the film earned an impressive $6.4 million despite competition from newcomers. This was 32% more than its first Sunday collection of $4.8 million. On Sunday, it surpassed Clayface to take over the #1 position at the North American box office. This is a massive achievement for a documentary in its second weekend. The film’s show count was also increased from 855 to 2,655.

It has become the third-highest-grossing non-music documentary of all time at the US box office. To achieve this feat, it surpassed the lifetime totals of the documentaries Earth ($32 million), 2016: Obama’s America ($33.4 million), and Under the Sea 3D ($36.3 million). With a $19.5 million three-day total in its second weekend, it has recorded the biggest three-day weekend ever for a documentary. This marks a 25% jump from its opening weekend at the box office. It has also surpassed the second-weekend total of Fahrenheit 9/11 ($16.4 million).
Interestingly, the documentary is eyeing a $90 million–$100 million run in the US, depending on A24’s capacity to maintain its theatre count and box-office momentum.
What Is The Documentary About?
The film follows notorious Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes as she invites a skeptical film crew to document her life just 34 days before she is sent to prison, turning what begins as an intimate portrait into a mind-bending journey spanning three years.
