R. Balki’s directorial Shamitabh did managed to show a decent growth in its business in its opening weekend. But, as a usual Monday drop trend, the film saw a dip yesterday at the Domestic Box Office. Shamitabh made a business of 1.6 crores on its 1st Monday, taking its 4 Days total to 14.85 crores at the Domestic Box Office.
The movie, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Dhanush in lead roles, is reportedly made on a budget of 40 crores. However, looking at the current trend, the film will have to fight it really hard to recover its costs.
While Shamitabh is heading towards a 20-22 crores nett 1st week collections, it will loose screens in its 2nd week, due to new releases. Clearly, the film will have to struggle thereafter.
