Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan’s Shaitaan is all set to arrive in theatres this Friday. So far, as far as promotional material is concerned, things have worked well, and the film has the potential to surprise everyone at the Indian box office. Ajay has witnessed a not-so-good run at the Indian box office in the post-COVID period. While he has given a blockbuster hit in the form of Drishyam 2, all his other films (featuring him in important/ lead roles) have failed in their theatrical run. Even his previous film, Bholaa, was a box office failure. Now, the actor has a chance to bounce back, and if things fall in place perfectly, he’s set to achieve a milestone.
In the post-pandemic era, Ajay Devgn’s first release was Runway 34. Despite decent reviews, it tanked at the Indian box office and earned just 32 crores. His next film, Thank God, which, despite being a Diwali release, failed at ticket windows and earned just 30.75 crores.
Next on the list of Shaitaan’s actor is Drishyam 2. It surprised everyone with its collection by posting a blockbuster total of 241 crores. Bholaa is Ajay’s previous theatrical, and it was a failure with a collection of 90 crores in India.
Combining the Indian box office collection of Ajay Devgn’s films released during the post-pandemic era, we get a total of 393.75 crores. So, we can see that the actor is just 106.25 crores away from hitting the milestone of 500 crores in the domestic market. For Shaitaan, it’s an achievable target.
The trailer of Shaitaan has worked really well with the viewers, and it has built momentum for the film. So far, the advance booking is also going at a decent pace.
