While most actors are quoted saying they do not consider box office success to measure their work, practically it is one of the most crucial things for the industry. Today, box office success is measured in terms of 100 to 300 crore clubs.
Considering the pressure that actors face to attain big collections, looks like they are now finding it easier to cash in on the festive slots to churn out maximum business.
Big stars such as Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, Ajay Devgn, Akshay Kumar etc booking their film release slots over two years in advance says a lot.
Shah Rukh Khan’s last film, Fan which was slated for a non-holiday release, in April, recorded a comparatively low business. Also, Akshay’s Housefull 3 being a franchise film, made a business of 107.70 crores.
To avoid such mishaps, it seems the actors are now leaping to book all the festive weekends.
