The Akshay Kumar–Anushka Sharma starrer Patiala House has had a below the mark weekend at the box-office. Patiala House made a little over Rs. 15 crore (Rs. 150 million) in all-India box-office nett collections in its first weekend.

The film took a very slow start on Friday, sending shockwaves across the trade. The film picked up slightly on Saturday and Sunday. Being an Akshay Kumar starrer, the surge in collections on Saturday and Sunday should have been at least 40 per cent – 50 per cent, but this was not the case. The all India nett collections of Patiala House were Rs. 4 crore (approx) on Friday, while the Saturday and Sunday numbers were Rs. 5 crore and Rs. 6 crore respectively.

The film has not been appreciated by Akshay Kumar’s fans because it seems like a Rishi Kapoor film than an Akshay Kumar one. Besides, fans of Akshay will also not appreciate seeing their favourite hero playing a helpless character in the film.
