Join UsHousefull 3 has done quite well at the Box Office. The film started well and then really shot up well on Sunday. Post that, it continued to collect well during the weekdays with standard drops which wasn’t a case for alarm. Eventually, the first week billing has come to 80.10 crore and these are the second highest collections of the week (after Airlift). It is remarkable since both films belong to Akshay Kumar and are at the top of the heap for the year so far.
Eros and Sajid Nadiadwala have further reasons to cheer as the film has entered the second week too with a good number of screens. In fact at most places, it has received as many screens as the new releases [TE3N and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani] combined together. Unless TE3N sees remarkable escalation on Saturday and Sunday, it is pretty much a given that the Akshay Kumar, Riteish Deshmukh and Abhishek Bachchan starrer would have the highest collections of this weekend.
All eyes are now on how quick does the film reach the 100 crore mark and where does it go from there. While it is expected that 100 crore would be reached by the coming Tuesday, the comic affair could well find itself in luck if there is enhanced momentum on Saturday/Sunday (when the family audiences come out in full force) and the distance is covered in a relatively shorter duration.
Moreover, from the lifetime collections, the film is chasing record of biggest comedy success ever – Ready [120 crore] and Housefull 2 [116 crore]. However, Golmaal 3 [106 crore], Bol Bachchan [103 crore] and Grand Masti [102 crore] would be surpassed in the second week itself.
