Join UsBefikre has seen decent numbers in its opening weekend with 34.36 crore. However when compared to other similar romcom musical dramas, it has collected lesser. Weekend collections of other films belonging to similar stage, setting and execution had brought in numbers as below:
Tamasha – 38.23 crore
2 States – 37.62 crore
Cocktail – 36 crore
Ae Dil Hai Mushkil – 35.6 crore
Befikre – 34.36 crore
In fact amongst these films, Cocktail had seen the most growth over the weekend and eventually turned out to be a solid hit. On the other hand even though weekend collections of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil seem low, the fact remains that these numbers had come in the pre-Diwali days. The Karan Johar film had taken a different route after the weekend and stepped in the 100 crore club.
On the other hand 2 States had stayed consistent right from its opening day and then crossed the 100 crore mark. Tamasha didn’t really cover much of a distance but had still grown well at least over the weekend before closing at 68 crore.
As for Befikre, it would need to be ultra-stable in days to come in order to be in the race to go past the 68 crore mark. The word of mouth for the film is mixed and it basically has two weeks to collect at the Box Office before Dangal hits the screens on 23rd December.
