Two diverse films belonging to different genres release this weekend – TE3N and Do Lafzon Ki Kahani.
TE3N is a bigger film, considering the starcast [Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui] involved. The trailer looks quite interesting too and the mystery factor should work well with the audience who love this genre of films.
Surprisingly though, the promotion has been extremely low key. While many reasons have been stated by the makers themselves around why they have chosen to pitch the film that way, the fact remains that not much has been said and written about the film. That said, since the Sujoy Ghosh production appears to be carrying good merits, word of mouth should help, if positive.
In comparison, Do Lafzon Ki Kahani is a smaller film, though effort has been made to promote it well. The songs are good and the visuals are looking rich as well. Director Deepak Tijori is making a comeback after Sunny Deol and Arjun Rampal strrer Fox. That said, the buzz hasn’t really seen much momentum despite sustained promotion.
Of late, Randeep Hooda has seen good media coverage coming his way due to a few back-to-back good performances while Kajal Aggarwal too is returning to Bollywood after Special 26. This could have been hammered a lot more. Again, it would all boil down to what audience says.
Between the two films, TE3N would open better due to face involved. However, from the occupancy standpoint, the real picture will start emerging from Saturday onwards since Friday isn’t expected to start on a high.
