Vicky Kaushal is on the run as he is working on interesting films back to back like Takht, Sardar Udham Singh. After an enthralling performance in Uri: The Surgical Strike, the actor is now all set to scare people with the story of Bhoot Part One: The Haunted Ship. But did you know that it has a connection to the city that never sleeps – Mumbai!
Yes, Vicky’s film is based on a true incident that took place in Mumbai. Director Shashank Khaitan revealed to TOI and said that the film’ story is inspired by a real-life story of a ghost ship that laved aground on Mumbai’s coast. Confirming the news, a source close to the development revealed, “Vicky Kaushal is foraying into the horror genre for the first time. The fact that ‘Bhoot…’ is based on a true incident that happened in Mumbai, got him excited about it.”
The source further spoke, “This film is not for the faint-hearted and unlike the horror-comedies we’ve seen, it will revolve around a ‘ghost ship’ that washed ashore on the coast a few years ago. Besides the fact that there were no crew members on board the unnamed ship, the spooky part is that it went completely undetected when it entered Indian waters and officials were only alarmed when it ran aground off the coast.”
