Shahid Kapoor’s Kabir Singh has shattered all the predictions and is having a blast at the Indian Box Office. Despite huge success, Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s intense love story is facing severe criticism from a section of the society for promoting toxic masculinity and glorifying the foul behaviour of the central character.
In an interview with Anupama Chopra, Sandeep Reddy Vanga spoke about the criticism and objectionable scenes of Kabir Singh. He quoted, “When you are deeply in love and deeply connected to a woman (and vice versa), if you don’t have the liberty of slapping each other, then I don’t see anything there.”

While the filmmaker is receiving applauds for giving tight feedback to the criticizers, South actress Samantha Akkineni termed it as ‘deeply disturbing’. She shared an Instagram story on Sandeep’s statement of justifying slapping scene of Kabir Singh and captioned it as ‘deeply disturbing’.

He wrote: “Your love is so overwhelming, words will always fall short. Thank you for understanding him forgiving him and loving him with all your heart. We all fall apart. And we all must strive to rise from our faults. To be better…To be wiser and to be kinder.
“He is flawed. So are we all. You didn’t judge him you experienced him. You understood him. I have never ever felt so thankful. The most flawed character I have ever played has become my most loved.”
