Sushant Singh Rajput passed away in the most unexpected way. The actor allegedly died by suicide. He hanged himself at his Bandra residence in Mumbai on June 14. Family members flew to the city the next day. The late actor’s funeral took place at Pawan Hans. But did you know Rhea Chakraborty was not allowed to attend it? Below are all the details you need.
Many saw Rhea visiting the Cooper Hospital where Sushant’s body had been kept. It was expected that the actress would also mark her presence at the funeral. However, that, unfortunately, was not the case. From Shraddha Kapoor, Varun Sharma to Krystle D’Souza – many reputed celebs paid their last respects but Chakraborty was missing from the scenario.
Now, as per a statement released by Rhea Chakraborty’s lawyer, she was not allowed to attend the funeral. Owing to the coronavirus pandemic, only 20 people were allowed. Advocate Satish Manshinde now claims that the actress’ name was struck off the list by the family.
The statement mentions that the Jalebi actress was in the city when Sushant Singh Rajput passed away. However, she was not allowed to be present at the funeral. “Rhea Chakraborty has always been living in Mumbai. She was in Mumbai on 14th June 2020. She was not allowed to attend the Funeral of Sushant Singh as her name was stuck off from the list of 20,” stated Satish Maneshinde.
He also clarified that Rhea has been marking her presence whenever called by Mumbai Police. “She was summoned by Mumbai Police on 18th of June 2020 at Bandra Police Station. Her statement was recorded there. Subsequently, she was summoned to appear on 17th July 2020 at Santacruz Police station. She appeared and recorded her supplementary statement,” he added.
Meanwhile, Bihar Police had claimed that they had tried to contact Rhea Chakraborty. However, she has not been responding. Satish Maneshinde previously debunked these statements saying they received no summons. They also claimed that Bihar Police has no jurisdiction.
