It is time to welcome 2016 and this is how the release plan for the big stars looks currently:

Shah Rukh Khan – Three confirmed releases (Fan, Raees, Gauri Shinde’s film with Alia Bhatt)

Akshay Kumar – Three confirmed releases (Airlift, Housefull 3, Rustom)

Salman Khan – One confirmed release (Sultan)

Aamir Khan – One confirmed release (Dangal)

Ajay Devgn – One confirmed release (Shivaay)

Hrithik Roshan – One confirmed release (Mohenjo Daro)

Amitabh Bachchan - The busiest of them all in 2016
Amitabh Bachchan – The busiest of them all in 2016

Now this is how the release plan of the ‘Baap of Bollywood’ looks like.

73 year old Amitabh Bachchan, the man who has made close to 200 films already in a career spanning over four and a half decades, would be seen in as many as three films, and that too as the central protagonist.

These are Wazir, Te3n and Shoojit Sircar’s next. Each of the three films is in a drama space and promises to present Sr. Bachchan in a different avtar.

Wazir has him play a wheel chair bound genius who gets into mind games of chess with Farhan Akhtar, and becomes an integral part of a crime drama. The film is directed by Bejoy Nambiar.

Te3N brings him back with his Aladin maker Sujoy Ghosh, who is producing the film this time around with Ribhu Dasgupta stepping in as a director. Along with Vidya Balan and Nawazuddin Siddiqui, there is some good fun expected on the streets of Kolkata where the film is currently being shot.

The recent announcement of Big B tying up with Shoojit Sircar all over again (after Piku and Shoebite) has been exciting as well, what with National award winner director Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury coming on board. A social thriller, it is all set to go on floors soon.

This isn’t all as he also has a cameo to play in Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor’s Ki & Ka.

With as many as three major releases and a cameo to add on as well, guess there is a lot of Big B that would be seen on the big screen by one and all in 2016.
