The film is based on the life of wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters. It has also has Sakshi Tanwar, Fatima Sana Shaikh, Sanya Malhotra, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar.
Directed by Nitesh Tiwari, Dangal has been written by Nitesh Tiwari, Shreyas Jain, Piyush Gupta, Nikhil Mehrotra and has been produced by Aamir Khan, Kiran Rao & Siddharth Roy Kapur.
