Rise: There was a time when the Khans ruled Bollywood and Shah Rukh-Salman made a formidable duo. Both had blockbusters to their credit and were the leading men in Bollywood. Salman, in fact, did a cameo in Shah Rukh’s Kuch Kuch Hota Hai even though he had to lose the leading lady. Things then turned sour because of his relationship with Aishwarya Rai. Salman allegedly barged into the sets of Chalte Chalte where he reportedly misbehaved with Shah Rukh before damaging Aishwarya’s car. The Khans then kept out of each others’ way. Much later, Salman came face-to-face with Shah Rukh at Farah Khan’s mehendi function. It was Salman who broke the ice as the bichchade hue Khans hugged and buried the hatchet. All was well and Salman even shook a leg with Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty and Saif Ali Khan in a song in Shah Rukh Khan’s Om Shanti Om.

Fall: The cracks started showing when Shah Rukh Khan responded with a ‘No’ for Salman’s home production Main Aur Mrs. Khanna. And then it happened.

The story goes that it was at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party at a South Bombay hot-spot where the real cracks began to appear. Shah Rukh was invited. When he entered with wife Gauri Khan, Salman was already tipsy. On spotting Shah Rukh, Salman taunted that the former’s show ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hai’ was not doing well. Reportedly, then Shah Rukh took a dig at Sallu and Salman’s tempers soared. It was only on Aamir Khan’s intervention that the situation was defused. Shah Rukh Khan left the party and Salman’s side forever. Apparently, the both still don’t see eye-to-eye.

Koimoi Jodi Verdict:  Bollywood’s hopes of bringing these two box-office cowboys together are shattered but we will never give up hope for a Karan Arjun 2!
