There was a time when it was Akshay Kumar who gave a light of hope to the overall very average box office of the industry. Mission Mangal is the second movie of this year for him after Kesari. He came in, did multiple movies per year and every one of them was declared a hit.

Namastey London, Heyy Babyy, Bhool Bhulaiyaa and Welcome – this was his ridiculously awesome lineup of 2007, and it was then since he has been on a rollercoaster ride at the box office. Even this year, he still has Good News and Housefull 4 due for release. Kesari did good, Mission Mangal is predicted to do well and rest of the two movies also look like sound successes.

Akshay Kumar: “After 15 Flops, People Said ‘Gaya Gaya’ & After Giving Hits I Heard Them Saying…”

To an interview to PTI, he opened up about his roller-coaster phase. He says, “I have been through this phase three times. So I wouldn’t be surprised if I go through it again. The best way is to keep working hard. When I had delivered 14-15 flop films, everyone said ‘Gaya Gaya’ and then after giving hit films, I heard them saying, ‘Aa Gaya Aa Gaya’. I remember these words.”
