Brace yourselves up because this might leave many of you baffled. The actor was initially offered the role of Champak Lal. Yes, Jethalal’s old father. However, Dilip Joshi refused to sign for it. It was only then that the makers offered him the current role. Can you even imagine Bapu Ji being played by Joshi? We certainly can’t!

Meanwhile, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah is all set to mark 3000 episodes. The makers including producer Asit Modi are planning a grand celebration for the same.
Raj Anadkat, who plays the role of Tapu recently revealed all the plans! In a conversation with Bollywood Life, he shared, “Yes, there will be some grand celebrations. When we had completed 2900 episodes, we did have some good celebrations. When we had our press conference, even Asit Modi sir had said kuch grand hone wala hai, dhamakedar hone wala hai.”
