According to data by Netflix from October 6 – 12, 2025, Kantara Hindi garnered a viewership of 1 million on Netflix against 2.5 million viewing hours and secured the 8th spot in the globally trending list of the top 10 non-English films on Netflix, which is ruled by the Brazilian film Caramelo.

Kantara Hindi this week has surpassed the viewership of Mahavatar Narsimha, Dhadak 2, Son Of Sardaar 2, and other biggies trending on Netflix this week. It would be interesting to see if the film continues to find a spot in the top 10.
About The Film
The official synopsis of the film says, “When greed paves the way for betrayal, scheming and murder, a young tribal reluctantly dons the traditions of his ancestors to seek justice.” The film stars Rishab Shetty in the lead. As per the prequel, Kantara Chapter 1, the official synopsis of the film says, “Exploring the origins of Kaadubettu Shiva during the Kadamba dynasty era, it delves into the untamed wilderness and forgotten lore surrounding his past.”
The film is produced by Hombale Films, and the prequel also stars Rukmini Vasanth and Gulshan Devaiah.
