Shefali Jariwala created waves back in 2002 when she featured in Kaanta Laga. While the song was tagged sensational and rather bold for its time, the former Bigg Boss 13 contestant has now said that she feels that the song was actually not bold! Yes, you read that!
Opening up on why she feels that way, Shefali said that the song did not have revealing clothes or vulgar actions. It simply spoke the story of a rebellious girl. She further was quoted saying, “Kaanta Laga was not bold. If you got to see I was totally covered. There was no cleavage show, no short clothes. It was about a girl who was a rebel. It was the attitude that people found bold more than the appearance. In personal life also I am quite that no non-sense person. I am a rebel in personal life.”
While the actress has been choosy post the humongous success of the song, she says she is more than happy being called the Kaanta Laga girl even after so many years of the song. Further speaking to ETimes in the same interview, Shefali said, “I feel great because people work so hard all their life to create an identity of their own and my first song itself created such a strong identity for me. There can’t be another Kaanta Laga girl and it’s just me. I feel I am very blessed and lucky that I did not have to struggle and I my debut song gave me such a strong identity. I love it when people call me the Kaanta Laga girl all over the world when i travel for shows. I am still called to perform on Kaanta Laga and I happily do it. Not a single day passes, when I am not thankful for the opportunity that I got. It was a dream opportunity that anybody can have.”
