Netflix has announced a new family film titled Dilwali Diwali for this festive season. This film will star Mihir Ahuja, Manoj Pahwa, Neelu Kohli, and Aurra Bhatnagar. The story follows a son who wants to give his parents a better life but finds that changing their home is not as simple as it seems.

Dilwali Diwali marks another collaboration between Netflix and Terribly Tiny Tales (TTT), following Greater Kalesh and Musafir Cafe. Written by Ritu Mago and directed by Ritesh Menon, Dilwali Diwali focuses on family relationships, generational differences, and the meaning of home.

What Is Dilwali Diwali About?

After years of working abroad, Ansh Sikka has done what many children dream of doing for their parents: giving them a better life. He’s bought his middle-class Punjabi parents a swanky new high-rise apartment, complete with all the comforts that come with an upgraded address. But when he returns home for Diwali, he discovers that a new home doesn’t necessarily mean a fresh start. Turns out, giving your parents a house upgrade is one thing; getting them to upgrade their idea of home is quite another.

The film brings a relatable take on the familiar push and pull between a parent’s idea of happiness and a child’s idea of success. As the Sikkas come together for Diwali, their differing ideas of what makes a good life spark moments of humor, tenderness, and recognition for anyone who’s ever tried to do the best for their family, only to discover that the best means different things to different people.

Dilwali Diwali Release Date: When And Where To Watch

Dilwali Diwali will premiere on Netflix on November 5, 2026. The film arrives during the festive season, with a story centered on family reunions, Diwali celebrations, and the idea that a house and a home are not always the same thing.

Produced by Terribly Tiny Tales, Dilwali Diwali continues the company’s association with Netflix. The film explores how family expectations can change across generations, especially when children try to give their parents the life they believe they deserve.
