Now, everyone is excited for his next release as the film is being helmed by a maverick filmmaker, Shankar, and it is said to be a political thriller shot on a grand scale.
While there’s no official confirmation about Game Changer‘s release date, yesterday, it was unveiled that the film will be streaming on Amazon Prime Video after the theatrical run. Now, as per the report in Track Tollywood, it has been learned that the leading OTT giant has secured OTT rights for all South Indian languages, and the Hindi streaming rights are with Zee5.
Reportedly, Amazon Prime Video has locked a deal of OTT rights for a staggering 105 crores, which is really huge considering the fact that it doesn’t include the Hindi OTT rights. It’s definitely a jackpot deal, as it has helped the makers to recover the heavy cost of Game Changer.
For those who aren’t aware, Game Changer is said to be carrying a budget of 250crores. There have been several reports stating that the cost has gone beyond the aforementioned figure due to constant delays. But as the updated number is not known, we’ll consider the amount of 250 crores as the exact cost of the film.
So, now, if the budget of 250 crores is compared to Amazon Prime Video’s deal worth 105 crores, the makers of Game Changer have already recovered an impressive 42% of the total cost. If it’s true, it’s a big relief for all the investors.
Meanwhile, Game Changer also stars Kiara Advani as a female lead. The film has faced multiple delays in the past as Shankar was also busy with his other biggie, Indian 2. It is learned that the team is completing the shoot at a brisk pace and aiming for a release later this year.
