It’s been quite a long time since we witnessed a well-made murder mystery from Bollywood. Now, it seems that our wait is over as one film belonging to the genre has just knocked on the door. Yes, we’re talking about the upcoming Hindi film Murder Mubarak, which is set to release next week. The trailer for the same is already out, and here’s its full detailed review.
Just a few moments ago, the trailer of the film was dropped on YouTube, and it’s 2 minutes and 51 seconds long in duration. The promo opens with a voice-over of Pankaj Tripathi, who introduces us to the Royal Club of Delhi. The club was made for Britishers during the British era. After the Independence, some Indian elites are a part of it. All seems to be going smoothly in the club until a murder takes place inside it.

As soon as the news of the murder breaks, Pankaj Tripathi, as ACP Bhavani Singh, comes into the picture to investigate the murder case. Then, one after the other, the trailer glimpses us with different characters of Murder Mubarak, played by Sara Ali Khan, Sanjay Kapoor, Vijay Varma, Karisma Kapoor, Dimple Kapadia, and Tisca Chopra.

While all characters appear to be innocent, Bhavani keeps a close eye on them as he feels that the murderer is one of them. Is Bhawani right about his suspicion? Who’s the actual murderer, and what was the motive behind it? Murder Mubarak answers it all!
Honestly speaking, the trailer gives a vibe of 36 China Town, which was released in 2006. It starred Akshaye Khanna, Shahid Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, and others. In Murder Mubarak, the character of Pankaj Tripathi feels similar to Akshaye Khanna. In terms of scale, the production design looks lavish and huge.

The trailer is well cut, and the background score suits the theme very well. Apart from the serious investigation, Murder Mubarak is also filled with elements of dark comedy. Pankaj’s character has a humorous side to it, and we can even see Dimple Kapadia talking about her breast size. All in all, this murder mystery looks interesting and worth watching.
Murder Mubarak is directed by Homi Adajania, who has helmed films like Cocktail and Finding Fanny. It is based on Anuja Chauhan’s novel Club You To Death and is scheduled to release on 15th March, exclusively on Netflix.
