Antim Box Office Review: Expectations
The film is an official remake of the 2018 Marathi blockbuster Mulshi Pattern. Ever since the remake was announced, everyone was quite excited to see how Salman Khan and Aayush Sharma would portray a bit unusual roles. When we learnt that Mahesh Manjrekar is handling the film, a guarantee of good emotional content was assured.
Just like most of the Bollywood films, this one too faced a delay in completion but got wrapped up in a quick time. Delay didn’t affect much as the film wasn’t a project which had big money riding on it. During promotions too, the film was smartly presented and kept low. Even though the film was said to be shouldered by Aayush, Salman’s name did create a good pre-release buzz. And as we all know, when Salman’s name gets attached, good numbers are expected at the box office.

Antim Box Office Review: Impact
This crime drama isn’t a total copy-paste of Mulshi Pattern, and it works in both ways- negative and positive. For those who have watched Mulshi Pattern, this film might disappoint as the raw story and screenplay have been ‘Bollywoodised’ in many places. However, if you haven’t watched the OG one, this definitely deserves your watch.
Aayush Sharma has improved a lot and steals the show here. Salman has taken a backseat and has given complete control to Aayush in the film. The trick looks to be working brilliantly as people are flocking theatres by seeing Salman’s name, and coming out praising Aayush’s performance. The best example is Bandra’s Gaiety theatre, which put a houseful board on a day prior to release.
Antim Box Office Review: Final Verdict
On the whole, Antim has things working in its favour. It has more scope at the box office as Satyameva Jayate 2 is working mostly in single screens with mixed word-of-mouth. Another advantage is that the film has a story with a backdrop of Maharashtra, thus giving it an edge over other releases in the state from the box office point of view.
The only worry is the 50% occupancy rule in the states like Maharashtra. As of now, it looks like the film will comfortably make a lifetime in the range of 75-80 crores.
Interestingly, last year, we have predicted that this film will be a game-changer for Aayush and Salman as well. Right from the film’s subject to Aayush taking up a dream role to Salman dropping his typical hero image, the film is now making our prediction come true. Click here to read our last year’s story.

Satyemeva Jayate 2 Box Office Review: Expectations
This John Abraham starrer has been waiting for a long to release. Finally, when the second wave of COVID slowed down, we saw the film charging up for the release. Thankfully, Akshay Kumar and Rohit Shetty’s Sooryavanshi marked the end of a gloomy period for all Bollywood biggies, thus giving hope for commercial entertainers like SJ2.
Speaking of the promotions, the makers released two trailers of the film. The second one was well-received by viewers. Songs too have received a good response. On the whole, the marketing has been good and enough to create a pre-release buzz.
In normal days, this commercial potboiler had the potential of emerging a huge hit. But now things are different as major states like Maharashtra are following the 50% occupancy rule. Another hurdle is a clash with Aayush Sharma and Salman Khan’s Antim, which releases tomorrow. As Antim looks like a package catering more to the multiplex audiences, SJ2 has a wide ground open in the form of single screens.

Satyemeva Jayate 2 Box Office Review: Impact
SJ2 is what it promises in a trailer! For the first time ever, John Abraham is playing a triple role. To be honest, we didn’t really expect a big variation between his characters (what we saw in trailers), and neither we have been served. But keeping that point aside, John’s action and unbeatable Hulk avatar is enjoyable if you are okay with Bollywood cliches.
The film has everything that is required to be successful in mass centres, especially single screens. The film has emotional scenes, action, music and a flavour of patriotism.
Some might find Satyameva Jayate 2 unbearable if there’s a search for any logic in it. If you don’t mind Bollywood taking too many liberties, this could be your TP watch!
Satyameva Jayate 2 Box Office Review: Final Verdict
SJ2’s prequel, despite receiving negative to mix critics’ reviews, was a box office hit. It had earned 89.05 crores. As most of the time, sequels perform better than prequels, under normal conditions, one could have predicted this film to join Housefull 2 (114 crores) and Race 2 (102 crores) to become John‘s 3rd 100 crore grosser. But this time, there are some hurdles in the path.
As of now, a lifetime collection between 55-60 crores looks possible with all the restrictions and competition. The range could increase if Antim fails to impress.
