Robert Downey Jr’s Iron Man might not require natural human strength since his abilities lie in technology but the actor still needed to get in shape for his iconic role. In the process, the Hollywood star apparently figured out who could be better than Hugh Jackman to guide him on how to sculpt his body for a superhero role. The interesting fact was revealed by Jackman himself when he shared how his conversation went with Downey. Scroll down to know the details.

To prepare for the Iron Man role, Robert Downey Jr once shared, “They said I’d be fine to start shooting the way I looked, but I took it upon myself to get into really good shape.” Downey apparently opted for a mix of weight training and martial arts to attain the physique for his big Marvel role.

Speaking of Hugh Jackman, according to Showbiz Cheatsheet, the actor revealed that Downey reached out to him when he first got the part. “Half of Hollywood[(plays superheroes] now,” said Jackman, who is ironically best known for his role of Wolverine. He added, “When Robert first got the part of Iron Man he reached out to me and said, ‘Mate, can you just share with me the diet and how to get in shape?’ because he knew I wasn’t in shape before it, so there’s a little bit of that [sharing that goes on between actors].” Since Jackman was known to put on a lot of muscle, he proved to be an idle guy for Downey.
