Rapper TI challenged 50 Cent to a Verzuz IG Live Battle early in this week. Now, he would prefer to battle with Jay-Z instead, as he believes that Jay-Z won’t be intimidated by him.
TI had wished 50 Cent happy birthday before saying, “…for your birthday, I offer you a challenge, sir. Pull your a** up with 20 of y’all records. Sit across from me.”
Talking about Kanye West and 50 Cent’s appearance on BET’s ‘106 and Park’, TI also declared, “I understand if you don’t want to answer to that challenge, ’cause last time you got challenged, Kanye West dusted your a** off, so… You might not want to do that.”
Both were doing promotions for their releases at the same time.
Referring to his challenge against 50 Cent, TI said in a video chat with All Def’s ‘Roast This’, that he would like to battle Jay-Z now. TI later dared 50 Cent to bring Eminem, Dr. Dre, and his other friends for the battle.
But now, he says, “To be honest with you man, I want Jay!” At the same time, he doesn’t believe that Jay-Z would engage in a battle with him.
According to TI, “Who can see [Jay-Z] sitting down to do a battle? If I’m a billionaire, I’m not finna do that, either, but me and 50 ain’t that far off. As far as our confidence, as far as our bankrolls go, we kinda neck and neck, whether he wants to [admit] it or not. And another thing, it’s personality. I need somebody who has a personality that won’t be so intimidated by my bravado.”
TI then said that 50 Cent’s catalogue was not as good as his, “I don’t care who sold however many records, I don’t care who has more number ones whether that means I’m up, meaning I have more number ones, more records sold, less records sold. Don’t care about that. I think my catalogue is doper.”
On the other hand, 50 Cent just laughed off at the news, implying that TI was probably exaggerating as he was high on the “weed they gave Smokey in ‘Friday’.”
