The actor has time and again being vocal about his obsession with the franchise. Not just that, a couple of days back when the makers announced revealing the new Bond in 2022, fans made Cavill trend on Twitter demanding him to be the iconic British spy.
In an old interview as per Comicbook, the interviewer took a different approach and asked Henry Cavill, there are many contenders to play James Bond, will you be the villain. The actor said, “If Barbara [Broccoli] and Michael [G. Wilson] interested me in any capacity to be a part of their movies, then I will gladly have that discussion, and that would be something I’d be very keen to explore further.”

However, this isn’t the first time Henry Cavill is contending to be the James Bond. The actor was in race with Daniel Craig too when he was roped in for Casino Royale. The actor had opened up why he did not make the cut and said, “I probably could have prepared better. I remember the director, Martin Campbell, saying, ‘Looking a little chubby there, Henry,’ I didn’t know how to train or diet. And I’m glad Martin said something because I respond well to truth. It helps me get better.”
Adding a bit more to the same comment where he was called chubby, in his Insider interview, Henry Cavill said, “It was his tough love way of saying, ‘Look, mate, you’re in a Bond screen test. Next time you come to a screen test, really focus hard on making sure you lean up if it’s for something like Bond.’ And I wasn’t by any means chubby, but I was probably overweight for taking my shirt off on camera.”
