Marvel and DC are the Hollywood giants that make comic book movies, but lately, superhero films have not been doing so well at the box office. There has been a lot of talk about fans experiencing superhero fatigue now. MCU star Chris Evans, who earned millions of fans after appearing as Captain America in the Marvel films, has reflected on the superhero movies of these days, and here’s what he has to say about it.

Like Robert Downey Jr as Iron Man and Evans as Cap was the face of the MCU, fans were divided when these two superheroes went up against each other in 2016’s Civil War. It significantly impacted Tony Stark’s and Steve Rogers’s relationship. Their characters had different ideologies but wanted to protect the people and their loved ones from harm. Marvel was at its peak back then, and most of their films were doing exceedingly well at the box office.

In 2023, most comic book/superhero films bombed at the box office. Among them, James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 received a positive response, and Aquaman 2 was also pretty good. The Marvels, The Flash, and Blue Beetle were significant disappointments. Chris Evans, however, has an interesting theory about it, which might decode why these films fail to impress the audience like they did previously.
