Anurag Kashyap recently triggered one of the biggest debates with his film Bandar. Turning around the Me Too debate and putting the spotlight on men, the film asked some uncomfortable questions. In the last scene, we see Bobby Deol sitting in prison, while a new inmate is telling him that he knows him and his case since it was the talk of the town! Bobby Deol looks at him and asks the ultimate, haunting question – “Kya lagta hai. Maine kiya ya nahi kiya?” Bandar ends abruptly with this question, leaving you guessing if he actually did it!

Why Does Samar Say Sorry!
In the climax, we see Bobby Deol‘s Samar, saying sorry to his girlfriend in a letter he writes to her from jail. He doubts himself and confesses that he might have triggered Gayatri to a point that she had to frame him in a rape case!
Throughout the film, we see him calling Gayatri a stalker. But in the end, he believes that he might have triggered her! The shadow of his actions hangs heavy. We see scenes where he actually ghosts her and refuses to even open the door for her. In fact, he does not even give her any clarity in person before he moves on to date other women.
He finally acknowledges that his erratic behavior might have destroyed her peace of mind and pushed her to take such a drastic step! Though none of it is intentional. But he says sorry to his girlfriend, just in case he has done anything to her which might have triggered her!
Bandar finally ends with an open debate – it is hard to believe, men. Despite his repeated telling that he did not rape Gayatri, no one believes him! And he finally puts it across to the audience to believe his story, just like we believe any other woman when she says a man has tried to cross his line with her! I mean, we will never know, Usne kiya ya nahi kiya! Unless the woman tells so!
