The film, which was a moderate hit in India, has made 205.99 crores over the first weekend, putting a seal on the popularity the actor enjoys in China. With its two-day collection of 100 crore, it also managed to eclipse the total amount it earned in India.

In Secret Superstar, the Kashmiri actress again plays a teenage girl who dreams of becoming a singer. The film is about how she fulfils her dreams by keeping her identity hidden. In Dangal, Zaira enacts Aamir’s teenaged eldest daughter who stuns her male opponents by defeating them in wrestling.
Aamir became a household name in China after the success of Dangal last year which raked up over 1200 crores since it was released in China. Aamir’s 3 Idiots and PK were also successful in China. Besides, Secret Superstar has already broken Dangal’s first-day record on China’s box office.
Secret Superstar has a month before Salman Khan aims for the China box office with his 2015 hit film Bajrangi Bhaijaan. The Kabir Khan-directed film will open across 8,000 screens on March 2 in China.
