Shaitaan was released on March 8, and the supernatural thriller surprised everyone with a 15.21 crore opening. It was much better than the expected range, and since then, the film has been overperforming. It delivered an opening weekend of 55.13 crore and delivered a first week of 81.60 crore, the second best of this year after Hrithik Roshan‘s Fighter.
However, the second weekend was not expected to deliver much higher numbers since he had to battle it out with Sidharth Malhotra‘s new release. But Ajay Devgn is beasting at the box office, and his 2nd Sunday is a testimony to the fact.
As per the early trends, on Second Sunday, Shaitaan collected in the range of 9.50 – 10 crore. This might be a surprising two-digit collection for the film, but all the positive signs are indicating towards the same range. It might also cross the 10 crore mark, but it will be clear once the numbers from late at night come in.
The horror flick collected 5.21 crore on the 2nd Friday, which was followed by a phenomenal 78% jump on Saturday. Being a partial holiday, it contributed a brilliant 9.12 crore on the 9th day, which was the 2nd Saturday.
Ajay Devgn’s 17th 100 Crore Film
Shaitaan is expected to stick to its pace and touch the double-digit with a further 15 – 17% jump on the 2nd Sunday. In total, the film might deliver a 2nd weekend of almost 25 crore, which deserves all the applause. Along with this, the grand total of the film will stand at around 106 crore. This will be Ajay Devgn’s 13th 100-crore film!
