Shaitaan has surprised one and all with its performance at the Indian box office. Earlier, it was expected that the film would do controlled business even if it’s good, but during the second weekend itself, the entry into the 100 crore net club was achieved. As a result, Ajay Devgn has seen a rise in his points tally in the Koimoi Star Ranking, taking him closer to Akshay Kumar. Keep reading to know more!
What is Koimoi Star Ranking?
For the unversed, in Koimoi’s Star Power Index, aka Star Ranking, actors are allotted points based on their films (Bollywood/Hindi) in the coveted box office clubs like 100 crore club, 200 crore club, and many more. For example, 100 points are given for a film in the 100 crore club, and so on. 50 points each is given for a film in the top 10 overseas grossers.

Ajay Devgn’s current status in Star Ranking
The last hike Ajay Devgn witnessed in his points tally was in 2022, when Drishyam 2 turned out to be a huge success and made a smashing entry into the 200-crore net club. Now, with Shaitaan crossing the 100 crore mark at the Indian box office, the actor has scored his 13th century and once again seen a hike in points. In the latest development, he has been credited with 100 points.
With the addition of 100 points, Ajay Devgn’s tally has moved up to 1600points. However, there’s no change in his position, and he is currently placed in the 4th spot, below Akshay Kumar.

Ajay to dominate over Akshay Kumar?
Apart from Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn is another busiest actor from Bollywood in 2024. His multiple films have lined up for release this year, and almost all of them have their release dates confirmed. After Shaitaan, Ajay will be next seen in Maidaan, which is scheduled to release next month. After that, his Singham Again will arrive on Independence Day. He also has Raid 2 scheduled for a release in November. There’s also Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha, but the release date is not announced yet.

With all these big films, Ajay Devgn might easily overtake Akshay Kumar, who currently has a total of 1900 points. However, the domination could be short-lived as even Akshay has films like Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, Sarfira, and Welcome To The Jungle scheduled to release this year. So, throughout the year, a tussle between both stars might take place.
