Premalu, the Malayalam rom-com that emerged as a surprise hit earlier this year, is proving its staying power at the box office. Now in its sixth week, the film continues to maintain a steady pace, even amidst newer releases. Read further to know Premalu’s 6th-week box office collections.

This past week saw Premalu collect a respectable 1.45 crore on the sixth Friday. The film then picked up steam over the weekend, grossing 2.45 crore on Saturday and a strong 2.9 crore on Sunday. Weekday collections dipped slightly, as is typical, but remained healthy at around 1 crore each day. This consistency has propelled Premalu‘s domestic total to a commendable 65.75 crore after 42 days.

Adding to its success, the film’s India gross collection, which factors in theatrical taxes, is even higher at 76.75 crore. Premalu’s international run has also been fruitful, bringing in an additional 41 crore, pushing the worldwide gross collection to a remarkable 117.75 crore. This is a significant achievement, especially considering the film’s reported budget of around ₹9 crore. With a return on investment exceeding 200%, Premalu has become a major financial success for director Girish AD and producer Bhavana Studios.

Premalu’s success isn’t limited to Malayalam audiences. It’s worth noting that the Tamil version of Premalu was only released last week, yet it contributed a significant 2.45 crore. The Telugu version, which hit theatres two weeks prior, has already garnered 9 crore in its 14-day run. These regional language releases are a testament to the film’s appeal beyond its Malayalam core audience.

The performances of the lead cast, Naslen, Mamitha Baiju, Althaf Salim, Meenakshi Raveendran, and Akhila Bhargavan, have undoubtedly played a part in the film’s charm.
