Prabhas and Rajinikanth are undoubtedly among the biggest movie stars in the Indian film industry. Both enjoy huge fan followings beyond their regional industries, which is why they are known as two of the biggest crowd-pullers at the box office. Talking about Prabhas, he’s fresh from the success of his magnum opus, Salaar. It was the debut collaboration between the actor and director Prashanth Neel. It clashed with Shah Rukh Khan’s Dunki, and while it didn’t do business on the expected lines, the final box office outcome was still huge, and the collection went over the 600 crore mark.

Salaar did a business of 615.26 crores gross at the worldwide box office and turned out to be a much-needed comeback for Prabhas. Before Salaar, he had Adipurush, which became a huge box office debacle. Even though it earned 395 crores gross globally, it was a big failure considering the enormous budget. Before Adipurush, even his Radhe Shyam was a huge box office failure and made just 148 crores gross.

Prabhas had a decent run before Radhe Shyam, with his Saaho doing a business of 453 crores gross. Going backward, Prabhas’ 5th film is Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, and as we all know, it fetched record-breaking numbers. The biggie ended its worldwide journey by earning 1800 crores gross.

Going backward, Rajini had Annaatthe before Jailer, and it did an underwhelming business globally by raking in 175 crores gross. Even his Darbar failed to create any magic at the worldwide box office and didn’t perform as expected. The film ended its run by earning 250 crores gross. Speaking about the performance of his Petta, the film earned 235 crores gross, and again, it was an underperformer.

Before Jailer happened, Rajinikanth had last tasted a clean box office success with Shankar’s 2.0. The film was a global hit and did a worldwide business of 655.44 crores gross.
