The Karthi starrer Meiyazhagan was released at the Tamil box office with high expectations. It did manage to garner a lot of critical acclaim due to the endearing subject and the honest performances. However, the movie seems underperforming and might miss recovering its budget. Not only this, but the movie has also missed the 60 crore milestone.
Talking about the same, on its 28th day, Meiyazhagan witnessed a meager rise in the collections from 0.01 crore to 0.02 crore. The day-wise collection of the movie has drastically decreased now. The India net collection of the movie now comes to 33.93 crore. At the same time, the gross collection of the movie amounts to 40.03 crore.
The Karthi starrer’s overseas collection comes to 12.25 crore. The worldwide collection of the movie now comes to 52.28 crore. The movie will not reach the 60 crore milestone because of the day-wise collection decreasing. Plus, it might not recover its budget of 35 crores too. It needs more than 2 crore to do so which seems difficult at this point.

The Karthi starrer will most likely have a limited run at the box office now since it has also been released on the OTT streaming platform Netflix. The movie was released today (October 25) on the OTT streaming platform. It will be interesting to see how the movie will fare with its closing collections.

Apart from Karthi, Meiyazhagan also stars Arvind Swamy, Sri Divya, Devdarshini, and Rajkiran in the lead roles. It has been directed by C Prem Kumar. The music has been composed by Govind Vasantha.
