Ajay Devgn’s Maidaan was facing a massive clash with Akshay Kumar’s Bade Miyan Chote Miyan till the tables turned, and Boney Kapoor’s film got the much-needed first mover advantage. The sports drama now releases on the evening of April 10. Meanwhile, the action biggie has decided against paid previews and arrives on April 11, Eid.

Ajay Devgn had a phenomenal start this year, with Shaitaan collecting 144.79 crore at the box office and earning a hit tag. Now, the early reviews of his sports drama are promising better numbers for his Eid release.

The advance booking numbers for Maidaan are indicating a positive upward trend, and all good things seem to be on the cards for Ajay Devgn. With two days remaining for the film for a full-fledged release, it has done a gross collection of 31.77 lakh till 3.30 pm.

Takes A 106% Jump

Maidaan has taken a jump of almost 111% in 24 hours. On the previous day, the film sold around 15 lakh worth of tickets, and now it has taken the collection to almost twice despite all the confusion regarding the release date. The 31.77 lakh collection has come from 14K sold tickets from almost 3.5 thousand shows.

Will Reap Benefits From Bade Miyan Chote Miyan’s Delay

Ajay Devgn’s film now arrives before Bade Miyan Chote Miyan, and the upward trends suggest that the film might reap benefits from these few hours that will act as a boon in disguise for the film that is set to clash with the massy action-biggie led by Akshay Kumar & Tiger Shroff.

Initial reports from the premiere of Maidaan have been very good, which hints at a great word of mouth during the paid previews itself, which will probably kick the Eid collection to its maximum potential.
