It is the Pre-Diwali phase and before the onset of the festive spirit, Bollywood is all set to get its best films out of its Pandora’s box. Every year, the box office has seen a good business over this period and this time with a much-awaited long weekend coming up with 2nd October, the business is all set to soar as two big films Bang Bang and Haider are set to release.

Bang Bang starring Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif is one of the most anticipated films of the year. The film is a remake of the Hollywood drama ‘Knight and Day‘ and is being produced by the successful Fox Star Studios banner. The film has a huge buzz and the millions of views that the film’s trailer and its songs are getting are a sign of it. Bang Bang could have amassed a whopping figure on its opening day considering that it is releasing on a holiday but due to its clash with Haider, the film will accumulate a slightly lower figure. Yet, the film is expected to open big with a collection of around 25 crores on Day 1. The highest opening so far has been recorded by Aamir Khan’s Dhoom 3 which opened with a massive 36 crores. The film will certainly be challenging the opening day collections of Shah Rukh Khan’s Eid Release Chennai Express, which collected 33.10 crores (being a Holiday release) and Salman’s Ek Tha Tiger (being a Holiday release) collected 32.92 crores on its opening day.

Even if Bang Bang misses the opportunity of becoming the Highest opening grosser, the film is definitely expected to cash in a 100 crore in its first four days. Considering that the film is releasing over the long weekend, the break down for the first four days is expected to range between 26-33 crores as the weekend collections will see a good jump from its opening day.

The film is expected to be high on positive word of mouth and thus if it maintains collections in the range of 12-15 crores over the first week, it will be hitting a total of 165 crores or more. While the Hrithik-Katrina starrer clearly has the potential to become a 200 crore film, this will be a second for both as Krrish 3 and Dhoom 3 already top the charts. With their star values, the ten day total for Bang Bang can be estimated at 195 crores and by the end of its Day 11, the film is expected to reach the coveted 200 crore club.
