When asked why Meghna as a director, unlike other filmmakers, opted not to show the Pakistanis in bad light, she said: “Because they are human too, they are just like us. And to shows ourselves good we don’t have to show others bad or evil.”

Based on Harinder Sikka’s book Calling Sehmat, the story of Raazi revolves around a young Kashmiri girl who gets married to a Pakistani Army officer and becomes a spy to give inside information about the neighbouring country to protect her own.

Alia Bhatt plays Sehmat in the film while Vicky Kaushal essays the Pakistani officer’s role.
