Akshay Kumar has had a great year so far with all three of his films, Airlift, Housefull 3 and Rustom performing extremely well at the box office. The actor gave us a surprise this Independence day by announcing his next film with director Neeraj Pandey titled ‘Crack‘.
With this announcement, the actor also booked the Independence day 2017 slot for its release. Interestingly, Shah Rukh Khan has been eyeing the same slot for his film with Imtiaz Ali, tentatively titled, The Ring.
Shah Rukh who has three films lined up for 2017, wants to make sure that there is enough gap between the three. While Raees will be releasing on Republic day 2017 with a clash with Kaabil, it seems the actor was keen on an August release for The Ring. His film with Anand L Rai is still in the making and is expected to have a late 2017 release.

Previously, too both the stars had come close to a clash in 2013 for Chennai Express and Once Upon A Time In Mumbai Dobara, but after a lot of discussions, the clash was averted by a week.
Also, Shah Rukh’s Don had clashed with Akshay’s Jaan-E-Mann. The latter was washed out by SRK’s Don that dominated the audiences.
