As theatres have been shut due to coronavirus pandemic, filmmakers are now landing on OTT platforms to release their movies. Reports also state that Hrithik Roshan and Ajay Devgn are also planning to release their films The Night Manager and Luther respectively on streaming platforms.
Joining the bandwagon, reportedly Shahid Kapoor is also set for his web debut. The superstar who is now basking in the glory of his film Kabir Singh has now been flooded with big projects. The actor is now all set to feature in. Moreover, the actor has also signed a multi-film deal with the streaming giant.
According to PeepingMoon.com Shahid Kapoor will be next seen in an untitled project, which is based on the Operation Cactus the Indian government launched in the Maldives islands in 1988. The operation was launched in to prevent a coup by a group of 200 Sri Lankan militants against then President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom.
Kaminey actor will be playing the role of Brigadier Farukh Bulsara, who was one of the most important personnel in the operation and had received international acclaim for it. Bulsara had commanded paratroopers of an Indian Army parachute brigade and regiment in this military operation. His decisive action had enabled the country to restore stability.
Interestingly, Aditya Nimbalkar, who had assisted Vishal Bharadwaj in Kaminey, Haider, Rangoon and Pataakha, will be making his directorial debut with this action-packed thriller movie. The film will be produced by Fox Star Studios and expectedly it will be released on Netflix.
Currently, Shahid Kapoor is shooting for Jersey remake. And after concluding the shoot, the actor will be ready to shoot for Aditya Nimbalkar’s film. This means the film will go on floors mid-next year. If reports are to be believed, the streaming giant has big plans for the film.
