Now, fans have a reason to celebrate again. The third film is in the works, and Akshay Kumar is officially returning to play his much-loved role.

Director Confirms Akshay’s Comeback With Third Installment

Director Amit Rai, who made OMG 2, confirmed the news in a recent talk with ANI. While speaking about the third installment of the film, he mentioned, “Uska next instalment to aayega jald hi lekin vo usse bada hoga jo aapne dekha hai (that next installment will come soon but it will be bigger than the one you have seen)” (via ANI)

When asked whether Akshay would feature in the new movie, Rai smiled and said, “Vo to honge (he will be a part),” meaning he will definitely be there. He clarified that Akshay is producing the film too, so there was never any question of his inclusion.

Rai added that writing for OMG 3 has already started and the group is scheduled to launch it next year. He assured that the next installment of the story will be greater and more substantial than the previous ones. The director also looked back at how involved Akshay was during the making of OMG 2. From narrating scripts to other actors, remembering entire scenes just by hearing them, and giving creative suggestions, Akshay was active at every stage.

What Fans Can Expect in OMG 3

In the second installment of the OMG franchise, Akshay played a messenger of Lord Shiva who guides Pankaj Tripathi’s character through a legal battle connected to sex education. The film was loved for mixing humor, emotion, and social commentary with a fine balance.

Fans want the third installment to tell an even grander story. While no plot details are forthcoming from the makers, Rai’s promise of an even grander experience has stoked the high anticipation. Akshay’s role as both actor and producer suggests that the film will be made with the same dedication and attention to detail as before.

For now, all eyes are on the official announcements about the story and cast.
