The hype around Netflix’s Sacred Games 2 was on an all-time high after the humongous success of its first season. But Sacred Games 2 failed to impress the audiences despite boasting of strong performances from actors like Pankaj Tripathi, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Saif Ali Khan, and Kalki Koechlin. And now, after Saif Ali Khan spoke about what went wrong with the second season, Nawazuddin has opened up about the same.

Speaking in his latest interview, Nawazuddin Siddiqui has said that the second season became too preachy to connect with the audiences. In conversation with Bollywood Hungama, the Kick actor said, “I left like the makers tried to add too many things to the season. In fact, I feel they tried to incorporate everything in Sacred Games 2.”

Speaking about introducing new characters in the second season, Nawazuddin said, “The new characters that were added and the time spent in establishing those characters also made it more complicated. The makers also tried to incorporate a philosophical angle to the season, which was good; but it somewhere became too preachy.”

However, Nawaz credited a major disconnect of the second season of Sacred Games with the audiences because of the introduction of too many new characters in the second season. The Raman Raghav actor said, “I think the new characters that were added to the second season failed to work because of the connection that the audiences had with the characters of the first season was very strong and which is why even I personally did not enjoy the addition of the new characters in the second season.”

He finally concluded saying, “I feel Sacred Games 2 did not work because it lacked the rawness of Season one.

Meanwhile on the professional front, Nawazuddin Siddiqui will next be seen alongside Athiya Shetty in Motichoor Chaknachoor, which is slated to release on the 15th of November.
