Here’s Why Jackie Shroff Ended Up Slapping Anil Kapoor For 17 Consecutive Times!

That Anil Kapoor and Jackie Shroff share a close bond and the two have worked together on several films is known to all. Both worked together in a film titled Parinda which is all set to complete 30 years on November 3. The makers released a video celebrating the 3 decades of the film in which Jackie Shroff revealed how he slapped Anil 17 times during the shoot of the film.

In the video, we can see Anil, Jackie, director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Anurag Kashyap having a chatting revisiting the happy days from the sets and having a ball over the funny incidents. It is in the same conversation, that Jackie remembered how Anil asked for multiple takes of the scene where he slaps the Beta actor.

Jackie Shroff revealed, “He wanted to express that his elder brother had slapped him. The first shot was okayed by the director and he got the right expression as well. But he said – no I want one more. I slapped him. He again said one more. I slapped him 17 times for the scene. I couldn’t just act as if I am slapping him. I had to slap him as one couldn’t get his reaction if you slap in the air.”

Parinda was a drama that revolved around two brothers Kishan and Karan. Before Parinda, Jackie Shroff and Anil Kapoor starred together as brothers in Subhash Ghai’s Ram Lakhan which released in 1989 and went on to become a cult Bollywood.
