It’s been a decade since the first Harry Potter film hit the theatres and almost 13 years since the series of fantasy novels hit the shelves. Come Friday (15 July, 2011) and the final instalment in the Harry Potter film series will be out, thus ending the hugely successful franchise. Lets look back and see how Harry Potter has evolved over the years
Remember the shy, awkward Harry Potter in the first few films? This is when the green-eyed, “boy who lived” found two friends who would stick to him for the rest of his life. Though Daniel Radcliffe was a bit stiff as an actor in the earlier movies, the young star has considerably improved over the years…
Harry’s friends, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson were perfect naturals when it came to their on-screen personas as Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger.
We still can’t get over how much they’ve changed over the years!
Even though Draco Malfoy (played by Tom Felton) looked adorably mean in the beginning of the series, his initiation into the Death Eaters gave us gooseflesh. But his trembling wand, when he was supposed to kill Dumbledore, was enough to melt our hearts.
Alan Rickman played the menacing Potions teacher Severus Snape with such finesse that he made it difficult to even detest him!
Over the years, Harry became part of viewers’ life as he made some shocking revelations…
Found love…
And made some new friends…
Of course Harry couldn’t have done it with a little help from his friends…
Some of whom didn’t make it to the end of the series.
With a huge lump in our throats, we are looking forward to “it all ends here”.
