Ekta Kapoor’s Kuku Mathur Ki Jhand Ho Gayi has landed up in trouble due to its outrageous title. N.L Mathur residing in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh has signed a Public Interest Litigation against the film and Balaji, claiming that the film’s title hurts the sentiments of the Kayastha community.
Associating the demeaning word Jhand hasn’t been taken kindly and the complainant has demanded that the film’s title is altered and rechristened removing the word Jhand from it.

A leading daily reported that Balaji’s CEO, Tarun Garg said that the company has so far not received any such PIL. It is not the first time a film’s title has landed it up in trouble. Amongst the most recent examples, it was Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ramleela which underwent multiple name changes which was finally settled for Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ramleela.
It is yet to be seen whether Balaji decides on changing the film’s name at all or maintains it to what it is. Directed by Aman Sachdeva, the film stars Siddharth Gupta, Simran Kaur Mundi and Siddharth Bharadwaj. The film will release on 30th May.
