Sanju Baba’s effortless comic act as the fiery Balwinder Singh Sandhu was appreciated by all. From his turban to the moustache and the quirky smile in the Po Po number, Sanjay Dutt was both cute and vengeful to pay homage to his ancestors. But it was the sugar coated lovey-dovey scenes with Juhi Chawla that set the stage sparkling in an otherwise bland masala entertainer.
Another power-packed performer of sorts, Mithun Chakraborty scorched the silver screen this time with some spectacular performances. While he donned the grey Swami in OMG Oh My God! with élan, it was his Bhadrakali bhakt avatar in Housefull 2, J.D that did wonders. The best part about the comic caper, Mithunda infused life into the character with high spirited willingness. We were floored and how!
An actor who breathes unconventionality in truest sense, Nawazuddin Siddiqui stands as the treasured find of this year. With a strong portrayal of the non nonsense and self opinionated Khan, Nawaz stands as a very strong contender for the crown and it would just be a fight to the finish, we presume. BTW, you cannot forget the limped Tehmur who played such a pivotal role in Aamir Khan’s cop suspense drama Talaash. No wonder, he wowed us there too!
A man who has always been a strong yet consistent contender in this category, Boman Irani played the loveable and soulful father and grandfather with a lot of grace and his performance was as usual, top notch! Vidhu Vinod Chopra certainly brings out the best in this man! We agree.
Tigmanshu Dhulia director who set the balls rolling with his Paan Singh Tomar earlier this year made his presence felt, big time on screen as the calculative, manipulative politician Ramadhir Singh in the Gangs Of Wasseypur series. Nurturing talents all his life, this man really showed his acting prowess driving such an innately unemotional and cold grey character with conviction.
