Pixar’s Toy Story began its journey almost three decades ago and had four movies in that franchise, with the fifth one’s release date revealed. Woody and Buzz Lightyear have been a part of many kids’ childhoods and continue to do that. About Toy Story Franchise –
The first film came out in 1995 and was the first entirely computer-animated feature film. It was also the first feature film from Pixar. John Lasseter directed it. The movies take place in the world of toys. The two main protagonists in these films are the old-fashioned pull-string Cowboy toy named Woody and the modern space cadet action figure Buzz Lightyear. Besides these films, there are also spin-offs, such as Buzz Lightyear of Star Command: The Adventure Begins of 2000 and 2022’s Lightyear.
The movies earned a lot at the worldwide box office. Recently, Bob Iger revealed the release date of this Pixar movie, and the wait will be pretty excruciating for the fans.
There has been no official confirmation about who will return for the fifth installment, but as per writer Pete Docter, the stars of this franchise, Woody and Buzz, will return despite what happened at the end of the fourth installment. Hence, Tom Hanks and Tim Allen will return to lend their voices to Woody and Buzz. There has yet to be an official announcement about it. Apart from these, new characters might be introduced, as in previous films.
Toy Story 5 Plot-
At the end of the last movie, Toy Story 4, Woody and Buzz go separate ways. While Woody stays with Bo Peep and the Lost Toys, Buzz and others join their new owner, Bonnie. The story can pick up from there, focusing entirely on Buzz and Bonnie’s toys, Woody’s cameo, or something else. The plot has yet to be revealed, so there is not much information on that front.

According to ComicBook’s report, Disney CEO Bob Iger announced release dates for some of their movies, including the fifth installment of the Toy Story franchise. As per the media outlet’s report, it will hit the big screens on June 19, 2026.
