Robert Downey Jr. took to his social media accounts last night to share the trailer of HBO’s Perry Mason. It’s a reboot of a courtroom drama of the same name which was released in 1957. Matthew Rhys, who was recently seen in A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood will be seen playing the lead role in the film.
Perry Mason tracks the story of a criminal defence lawyer and showcases his past. Robert Downey Jr. shared the trailer with the caption, “Brighter days ahead.” An interesting fact about the film is, Robert was the chosen one to star as the lead in the film.

Yes, Matthew Rhys replaced Robert Downey Jr. as the latter had some date issues. Though Robert is still attached to the film as the producer. Raymond Burr headlined the title character of Perry Mason in the original one.
