Avengers: Endgame Encore is creating a lot of buzz, especially because of the added footage it will show, connected to Avengers: Doomsday. The experts are also keen on how it performs at the box office, whether it will reclaim its lost box office titles. There is also a big question about whether it could beat the record re-release numbers for James Cameron’s classic Titanic at the box office. It remains the biggest re-release ever. Keep scrolling for the deets.

The re-released version is around four minutes longer than the original 2019 movie. The color grading of this new version of Endgame also seems different to the eagle-eyed fans. They have spotted the difference in Endgame Encore’s official trailer. It will be a cinematic event for the Marvel fans and is expected to leave a mark at the box office as well.

Titanic’s record-breaking re-release in 2012

According to reports, Titanic’s 3D re-release in 2012 was the biggest in Hollywood history. It collected a solid $17.3 million on its re-release debut weekend at the box office in North America. Internationally, James Cameron’s film collected a massive $292.56 million during its 2012 re-release [via Box Office Mojo]. The worldwide collection of the Leonardo DiCaprio starrer was $350.4 million, earning it the record of the biggest re-release ever.

How much does Avengers: Endgame Encore must earn to beat Titanic’s 2012 3D re-release?

The upcoming Marvel re-release thus has a big target to overcome at the worldwide box office to beat Titanic’s 2012 re-release record. Avengers: Endgame Encore must gross around $351 million worldwide to beat the Kate Winslet-starrer’s impressive record. Avengers is a blockbuster franchise, and the added footage makes it an important film to watch ahead of Avengers: Doomsday‘s release this year. But in the post-Endgame era, people have suffered superhero fatigue, and MCU movies have had underwhelming box-office runs as well.

Therefore, Avengers: Endgame Encore might not be able to beat this record-breaking re-release collection of Titanic. But we must never underestimate the power of the biggest superhero crossover movie, with Spider-Man: Brand New Day dominating the global box office. We have to wait and watch how Avengers: Endgame Encore performs at the box office.

Directed by Joe & Anthony Russo, featuring an ensemble cast comprising  Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Don Cheadle, Paul Rudd, Brie Larson, Karen Gillan, Danai Gurira, Benedict Wong, Jon Favreau, Bradley Cooper, Gwyneth Paltrow, and Josh Brolin, will be re-released on September 25.
