Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah: When Mandar Chandwadkar AKA Bhide Quit His Dubai Job To Pursue Acting

Famously known as the ‘Ekmeva secretary’ of the Gokuldham society, ‘Mr. Bhide’ Mandar Chandwadkar is a mechanical engineer by qualification! Yes, you read that right! But what’s more, is that the much loved Taarak Mehta actor had quit a well-paying job in Dubai to pursue his acting career.

Speaking to ETimes in his latest interaction, Mandar Chandwadkar was quoted saying, “I struggled till 2008. I am a mechanical engineer by profession and was working in Dubai. I quit my job and returned to India in 2000 as I wanted to pursue a career in acting. Acting has always been my passion since childhood. I had done many theatre plays but did not get a break that I needed. There’s a lot of work in the industry but I was waiting for a break and through this show, I got that in 2008.”
