The business reality show Shark Tank India has been winning audiences for three seasons. The third season of the show is currently being aired on Sony Entertainment Television and is available to stream on Sony Liv App. The 39th episode on the show finally brought the lowest-priced deal of this season.
Pitchers Anand Bodh and Arpit Dhupar presented their startup, Dharaksha Ecosolution. The company is working towards sustainable packaging and aims to replace thermocol entirely from the eco-system in the coming years.
In their pitch, Anand and Arpit claimed that recycling a thermocol is not possible; in fact, it is more dangerous than plastic since it takes almost 2000 years to degrade. They also explained how the first thermocol that might have been used must still exist in the environment!
While Anand and Arpit’s pitch impressed everyone, it was their ask that surprised the Shark Tank India judges more! Dharaksha founders asked for only Rs 1250 for 1% equity from the sharks with a promised 100 hours of their time towards the pitchers’ company Dharaksha!
Peyush Bansal and Anupam Mittal found that the ask was too generous and humble to be true. They did not trust it entirely and kept asking what the pitchers wanted more. But Ritesh Agarwal and Aman Gupta were impressed with their diligence and confidence. Finally, the deal was closed by all sharks on what was promised with 20 hours by each Shark!
The Highest & The Lowest Deal
Interestingly, the highest and the lowest priced deal to date on Shark Tank India Season 3 has been an All Shark deal. The highest-priced deal was at 3 crore by Nasher Miles, a Travel bag company. Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, Vineeta Singh, Anupam Mittal & Ritesh Agarwal promised to invest 3 crore for 1.5% equity & 1% royalty until 3 crore is recouped.
Interestingly, Nasher Miles’ highest-priced deal is a jaw-dropping 23,99,900% higher than the lowest-priced deal that came along with Dharaksha Ecosolutions’ deal of Rs 1250 for 1% equity and 100 dedicated hours from the Sharks. All sharks on the panel made the deal: Anupam Mittal, Aman Gupta, Peyush Bansal, Vineeta Singh, and Ritesh Agarwal.
While this has been the most surprising deal this season, here are three more least-priced deals in the history of Shark Tank India.
Cocofit – Season 1
In season 1, Shashikant presented a brilliant pitch for his brand Cocofit, which made coconut-based beverages. More surprising was his ask, as he wanted only Rs 5 for 5% equity. Cocofit offers a tempting array of vegan treats. Indulge in the creamy goodness of drinks, shakes, and smoothies, all expertly crafted using coconut milk and water. While Peyush Bansal and Ashneer Grover were out of the deal, Namita Thapar, Aman Gupta, and Anupam Mittal signed the deal for what was asked for, making it the least-priced deal of the first season.
Watt Technovations – Season 1
Next came a company that made ventilated PPE Kits and asked for Rs 101 for 2% equity. However, Namita Thapar, Peyush Bansal, Anupam Mittal, and Ghazal Alagh closed the deal for the same amount for 4% equity. Nihaal Singh Adarsh won the hearts of the judges with his pitch.
Dhruv Vidyut – Season 2
The most surprising pitch in the three seasons of Shark Tank came along in season 2 when Gursaurabh Singh presented his innovation of an Electric Conversion Kit, which could be very useful for daily bicycle commutes. The pitcher asked for no money, in fact, offered 0.5% stakes in his company against a dedicated time of 100 hours from the Sharks! Aman and Peyush were very impressed and promised the same to the pitcher, against the condition that they be the first investors of Dhruv Vidyut. Meanwhile, Anupam Mittal promised to come along if Dhruv Vidyut raised 1 crore.
